 Orange Arrow At the base of Uluru, there are found 'waterholes' which are critical sources of water for the aboriginal people and animals in the area. They form water catchment pools for rain falling and streaming down Uluru.



Ayers Rock

 Orange Arrow Uluru is one of Australia's most recognisable natural icons. The world-renowned sandstone formation stands 348 m (1,142 ft) high with most of its bulk below the ground, and measures 9.4 km (5.8 mi) in circumference.

 Orange Arrow Uluru is notable for appearing to change colour as the different light strikes it at different times of the day and year, with sunset a particularly remarkable sight when it briefly glows red.



Kata Tjuta

 Orange Arrow Kata Tjuta, known also as The Olgas. Kata Tjuta is the Aboriginal name, which means "many heads". It is a group of more than 30 rounded red domes rising from the desert floor. The tallest is said to be around 546 metres high. Kata Tjuta is about 30 kilometres west of Uluru.



Kings Canyon

 Orange Arrow Two walks exists at Kings Canyon. The 2 km (return) and approx 1 hour Kings Creek Walk traces the bottom of the gorge. At the end of the walk is a platform, with views of the canyon walls above.

Itinerary

Day 1: Alice Springs - Uluru (Ayers Rock)

Travelling south we stop to visit a camel farm for an optional camel ride (own expense). Later stop to view Atila (Mt. Conner) before arriving at Ayers Rock Resort. Travel to Kata Tjuta. Enjoy a 2-3 hour walk through the fascinating domes to the Valley of the Winds. Later enjoy an outback sunset followed by a complimentary glass of sparkling wine. Travel to our exclusive venue to enjoy a delicious barbecue dinner and stargazing (weather permitting). Vegetarian meals available upon request at time of booking

Day 2: Uluru (Ayers Rock)

This morning join the Uluru Sunrise, Climb and Base Tour or for the non-climbers, the Uluru Sunrise and Guided Cultural Walk . On both tours you will rise early this morning to travel to the Uluru sunrise viewing area, Talinguru nyakunytjaku. Watch the first rays of dawn set the Red Centre alight. Both tours also include a visit to Mutitjulu Waterhole where you will view Aboriginal rock paintings and learn about the area as your Driver/Guide points out some native flora and explains the Aboriginal and European history of Uluru. Later spend time at the Uluru - Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. This evening enjoy sunset at Uluru with a complimentary glass of wine.

Day 3: Kings Canyon

Time to relax this morning. In the afternoon travel to Kings Canyon. This evening you may wish to attend the award winning 'Sounds of Firelight' dinner (own expense), exclusive to King Canyon Resort.

Day 4: Depart Kings Canyon

In the cool of the morning join your Driver/Guide for a 3 hour guided climb to and around the rim of Kings Canyon. Marvel at the breathtaking views of Watarrka National Park and into the canyon itself. The rim walk is rocky and steep in places and is recommended for those with a good level of fitness. Alternatively, you may wish to explore the canyon floor, an easier shady walk that follows a trail between the two sheer walls of the canyon. Travel on to Alice Springs.

Concludes: 7.00pm in Alice Springs or 4.30pm (Oct-Mar) and 5.00pm (Apr- ep)
