Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Perth
On arrival in Perth you will be transferred to your hotel. This afternoon join a tour of the city. Enjoy a welcome drink and dinner with your Tour Director and travelling companions.

Day 2: The Pinnacles
In Nambung National Park view the spectacular mystical Pinnacles. Made from calcified limestone, these pillars were formed thousand of years ago. Continue to Geraldton on the Batavia Coast.

Day 3: Kalbarri National Park
We travel this morning to Kalbarri National Park. Enjoy the views of the Murchison River Gorge from Hawks Head Lookout. Continue to Hamelin Pool to see the Stromatolites and then to Shell Beach.

Day 4: Carnarvon
Early this morning we look for the dolphins that come into shore. These wild mammals of the ocean swim into the shallows to mingle with people. (Note: As dolphins are wild their appearances cannot be guaranteed).

Day 5: Exmouth
At Coral Bay we join a sub-sea viewer for a cruise over the Ningaloo Reef. Continue to Exmouth, situated on the boundary of Cape Range National Park and Ningaloo Marine Park.

Day 6: Tom Price
Today visit Giralia Station, an area of outstanding biodiversity with many different species of flora and fauna, some of which are unique to the station. Travel to Tom Price, in the heart of the Pilbara.

Day 7: Karijini National Park
We travel into Karijini National Park where spectacular gorges, waterfalls and rock pools provide a contrast to the red Pilbara landscape. See Joffre Gorge as we head west through the oasis that is Millstream National Park.

Day 8: Karratha - Broome
Our journey today takes us north, firstly into Port Hedland, a major shipping outlet for the mineral rich Pilbara Region. We then skirt the edge of the Great Sandy Desert before arriving in Broome.

Day 9: Broome 'Free Time'
Enjoy a day at leisure exploring this tropical hideaway. You may wish to visit magnificent Cable Beach, with 22kms of white sand and clear tropical water. Perhaps take a spectacular Scenic Flight over the Buccaneer Archipelago or ride a camel at sunset on the beach. Or stroll through Chinatown, home to some of the world's finest pearl showrooms.

Day 10: Fitzroy Crossing
This morning we depart for Derby, the oldest established town in the Kimberley, located on the tidal mud flats on the edge of the King Sound. See the famous Boab Prison Tree, believed to be around 1,500 years old and used by the police as an overnight holding cell. Continue on to Fitzroy Crossing.

Day 11: Geikie Gorge - Halls Creek
Cruise through spectacular Geikie Gorge. Watch for freshwater crocodiles, fruit bats and wallabies as the 30 metre high walls of the gorge tower above us. Travel on to Halls Creek, situated on the edge of the Great Sandy Desert, at the doorstep of the majestic World Heritage listed Purnululu National Park. This afternoon we'll have the opportunity to meet and talk with some local indigenous artists.

Day 12: Lirrgarn Argyle Diamond Mine
Visit the Lirrgarn Argyle Diamond Mine for a guided tour of the world's largest diamond mine, producing one quarter of the world's diamonds annually.

Day 13: Ord River Cruise
Cruise the placid waters of the Ord River, keeping a look out for the birdlife which inhabits this waterway, before arriving at Lake Argyle. We then visit the Historic Durack Homestead. See the Ord River Irrigation Scheme, Hidden Valley National Park and visit Kelly's Knob Lookout. Travel to Parry Lagoon Nature Reserve. See the birdlife of this region and learn about traditional lifestyles. Continue to Wyndham to the 5 Rivers Lookout.

Day 14: El Questro
This morning we briefly traverse the Gibb River Road on the way to El Questro Station. Cruise through Chamberlain Gorge, abounded by tropical vegetation. You will have some free time in this serene Wilderness Park.

Day 15: Katherine
You will gain an appreciation of the vastness of this land as we leave Western Australia and start our journey eastwards into the Northern Territory.

We enter Nitmiluk National Park for a magical cruise through Katherine Gorge. Continue to the Adelaide River War Cemetery for a visit and inspection, before arriving in Darwin, the tropical capital of the Northern Territory. Enjoy an orientation tour of the city on arrival.

A fascinating two and a half hour wildlife cruise in one of the world's most important animal behavioral research sites. Scientists from all over the world come to Monkey Mia to unravel the mysteries of the marine world. There are people listening to dolphins; putting video cameras on tiger sharks; tagging turtles; studying stingrays and tracking dugongs. You'll find out their discoveries. You'll learn the relationships between the animals; the reason for the behaviour you're seeing; have some myths exploded and some secrets revealed. Wildlife Experience" but with a much better chance of seeing dugong since this is usually when we visit the Restricted-Access, Dugong Management Zone, which we are allowed into only once a day. Dugong feed on sea-grass. Shark Bay has the largest sea-grass banks in the world, and its 10,000 dugongs represent about 10% of the world's dugong population. Although dugongs are shy and extremely difficult creatures to find and approach, we have over the last 14 years developed techniques for getting you close without disturbing them.
