Itinerary
What's ahead of you
We pick you up from your Adelaide CBD accommodation at 8.30am or Adelaide Bus Station at 9.00am and head down to the Fleurieu Peninsula to Middleton Beach for Surf Lessons with the Licensed Surf and Sun Surf School with all the equipment provided. We enjoy a picnic lunch on the Fleurieu Peninsula Before our second surf lesson after lunch.
Arriving on Kangaroo Island
We take you to and from Kangaroo Island on either the Sealink Fery or a dolphin charter boat . As we make our way across backstairs passage, the skipper checks the best spots for dolphins. We drive to our own accommodation located on the western end of Kangaroo Island called the Woolshed. After settling in, you can enjoy a shower, check out the kangaroos, koalas and wallaby's around the hostel and after a big dinner, head out for a nocturnal activity wildlife spotting, then sit around the campfire, laugh and toast some marshmallows.
On Kangaroo Island
Once on Kangaroo Island, we set off in search of wildlife and adventure. Our guides have the power to tailor the itinerary depending on the weather and the group. With Surf and Sun, you are on an adventure with a maximum of 21 people, giving us flexibility and enabling us to visit the best places at the best times, on every tour.
Itinerary
Day 1: Wildlife Viewing and Adventure (L and D )
- Pick up at 8.30am
- Surf Lesson with qualified instructors at Middleton Beach with all the equipment provided including wetsuits, surfboards, rash tops and sun cream
- Lunch
- Second Surf Lesson at Middleton Beach
- Photo Time
- Dinner at a country pub
- Accommodation overnight is at the New Port Elliot Beach House YHA on the Fleurieu Peninsula
Day 2: Wildlife Viewing and Adventure (B, L and D)
Depart Port Elliot at 7.20am- SEALINK ferry to Kangaroo Island

- Kayaking at Vivonne Bay (summer program only) OR
- Optional Quad Bike Tour with Kangaroo Island Outdoor Action with Kangaroos
- Flinders Chase National Park

Day 3: Wildlife Viewing and Adventure (B and L)
- Sand Boarding at Little Sahara
- Guided walk with ranger on the Beach with the Sea Lions at Seal Bay
- Bird of prey show with Kookaburras, eagle and other Australian birds
- North coast of Kangaroo Island
- Stokes Bay
- Snorkelling (Summer program only)

- Return to Adelaide at around 10:30pm
The Wildlife
Because Kangaroo Island does not have any rabbits or foxes, all the little critters that have had there lives destroyed by them are still in abundance making Kangaroo Island a must see for Australian Wildlife.
Where you sleep
Situated on a 40acre farm, the accommodation is set amongst native bush, on the property Kaiwarra at Seal Bay Tourist park. The property Kaiwarra was the original Kaiwarra Post Office from 1909 to 1915, and the original Kaiwarra Cottage (now a cafe) was built in 1873. This historic property has cabins, a cafe, farm land and bush surrounding a winter lagoon. The accommodation also boasts loads of native scrub and lots of native wildlife including echidnas, wallaby's, goanna, kangaroo's, possums and koalas only 50 metres from the front door. The neighbouring 4000 acre property is used for cropping and make for beautiful views.
The rooms are 4 and 6 bed dorms. You have the option of sleeping in comfy beds or in cosy swags under the stars, under a koala in a tree by the camp fire. All linen supplied. The accommodation has inside and outside campfires with plenty of marshmallows to toast, native bush land and a winter lagoon. The accommodation has loads of books, comfy couches and hammocks to relax in. You can walk under the trees and hang out with the koalas or stoke up the fire and look at the stars. The accommodation is a unique and fun place to relax and unwind after an action packed day on Kangaroo Island.
