Ayers Rock

 Orange Arrow Uluru is notable for appearing to change colour as the different light strikes it at different times of the day and year, with sunset a particularly remarkable sight when it briefly glows red.



Kata Tjuta

 Orange Arrow Kata Tjuta, known also as The Olgas. Kata Tjuta is the Aboriginal name, which means "many heads'. It is a group of more than 30 rounded red domes rising from the desert floor. The tallest is said to be around 546 metres high. Kata Tjuta is about 30 kilometres west of Uluru.

Ce Safari-Camping «tout inclus» est fait pour tous ceux qui veulent s'imprégner des couleurs de l'Australie centrale, vivre et expérimenter la culture ancestrale des Aborigènes et se rapprocher de la nature du véritable Outback.

Itinerary

Jour 1: Alice Springs to Yulara

Nous partirons d'Alice Springs vers le Sud et nous nous arrêterons à l'«Outback Camel Farm» (balade en chameau à vos frais) pour une brève exploration.  Nous passerons l'après-midi à l'Uluru (Ayers Rock) où nous explorerons le patrimoine culturel mondial le plus important de cette région. Vous découvrirez pendant ce tour des peintures aborigènes dans les cavernes antiques de l'Uluru et beaucoup d'autres curiosités de la plus vieille culture au monde! Au coucher de soleil, vous pourrez admirer les spectaculaires changements de couleurs de l'Uluru. Enfin, nous retournerons au camping où nous attendra un repas traditionnel australien. Après le diner, vous pourrez vous relaxer sous le ciel étoilé du désert.

Jour 2: Yulara à Kings Creek

Un réveil tôt pour un magnifique lever du soleil aux Kata-Tjuta (The Olgas). Vous pourrez vous promener et admirer la beauté des 36 dômes magiques. Vous découvrirez les curiosités de la flore et de la faune présentent ainsi que la gestion des incendies dans le parc national. Dans l'après-midi nous continuerons notre voyage en direction Kings Creek Station, en passant par le territoire des dunes rouges, où vous aurez l'occasion de pratiquer beaucoup d'activités optionnelles. Nous terminerons le deuxième jour avec un traditionnel «Camp Oven dinner».

Jour 3: Parc National de Watarrka & Kings Canyon à Wallace Rockhole

Ce matin là nous visiterons le fabuleux Watarrka National Park. Nous nous promènerons tranquillement le long du Canyon en admirant les lieux mythiques comme «Lost City» et «Garden of Eden». Après un pique-nique nous roulerons sur la célèbre Mereenie Loop Road en direction des MacDonnell Ranges. L'après-midi nous explorerons la Herrmannsburg – une des missions la plus connue des Aborigènes et maison du célèbre artiste Albert Namarjira. Vous aurez aussi le temps de visiter le Heritage Museum pour mieux connaître l'histoire de cette communauté. Après nous nous dirigerons vers notre camping dans la Wallace Rockhole Aboriginal Community.

Camp: Wallace Rockhole Permanent Campsite

Jour 4: Wallace Rockhole à Alice Springs

Au matin nous visiterons la Rockhole avec notre guide local, vous pourrez admirer l'art des Aborigènes et apprendre les curiosités de leur culture (saisonnier). Vous participerez aussi au cours de peinture à points et vous apprendrez les techniques traditionnelles utilisées dans l'art et l'artisanat des Aborigenes. Ce jour là vous vivrez aussi certains aspects originaux des Western MacDonnell Ranges : Stanley Chasm et Simpson Gap; goûterez un pique-nique dans un environnement magnifique et vous pourrez vous promener en espérant apercevoir quelques petits «rock wallabies». Nous terminerons ce dernier jour à Alice Springs, arrivée vers 17h00 (pendant la saison estivale nous retournerons plus tôt).

What You Need to Know

Your Vehicle: You will be travelling vehicle specifically designed and built for Australian outback conditions. Vehicles are air-conditioned for your comfort, have CD players and/or Ipod connections and large panoramic windows for uninterrupted sightseeing. Smoking is prohibited on the coach.

Your Road Crew: On most of our tours, your crew will consist of a Driver/Guide. Some tours have drivers and interpreter guides. Our crew are chosen for their driving skills, their knowledge of the outback, their personality and of course their leadership abilities. They are also trained to prepare tasty wholesome meals and will do their utmost to ensure you have a great holiday. Assistance with camp chores is appreciated and forms part of the group camping experience and travel in the Aussie Outback.

Your Meals: Your tour includes meals as indicated. On most days, breakfast, lunch and dinner will be included. Your driver/guide will prepare most of the meals whilst on tour with your assistance with the catering supplied by the local indigenous company, Kungka's Can Cook. Please make sure you advise us of any special dietary requirements well prior to travelling. Complementary wine is also served with dinner on our Red Centre trips.

Participation on Tour: All tours are activity and participation based. During your travels you will have the opportunity to assist with daily activities such as setting up camp, helping prepare meals and clearing dishes. None of this is difficult however many hands make light work and any assistance provided to crew is always much appreciated. Most people agree that this type of activity helps you feel like less of a tourist and more of an explorer.

Tours are also relatively active. Whilst most hikes/walks can be tailored to suit individual fitness levels, please keep in mind that extreme temperatures during summer can add an extra degree of difficulty. During summer months itineraries may be altered to to ensure the more strenuous walks are carried out during the cooler hours of the day. Passenger safety and enjoyment is our priority. To avoid dehydrations, we recommend drinking 1 litre of water per hour when hiking.

Camping Facilities on Tour: Camp sites in the Red Centre are comfortable without compromising the unique natural setting. All of the tents are twin share, have hard floors and real beds. Being permanent sites, there's no pitching of tents and all campsites have hot/cold running water with toilets and shower blocks close by. Sleeping bags and sheep sheets are provides at no extra cost. A travel pillow and towel will be provided for you to use and keep for your future travels! Camp stretchers are also provided for adventurous travellers who want to sleep out under the stars! Environmental Dyno lanterns are also provided within the tents. Power boards are available to recharge your cameras' and videos' battery packs in all our camps.
