Day 1 – Adelaide to Kangaroo Island
Afternoon pick up from your Adelaide hotel (or you can transfer direct from the airport to Adelaide Central Bus Station) for 15.45pm departure for the scenic coach trip through hills and farmland and along the coast to Cape Jervis. There you will connect with SeaLink's fast and comfortable ferry for the 45 minute cruise to Kangaroo Island. On arrival in Penneshaw transfer to the Kangaroo Island Seafront Hotel, check in and order your 2-course dinner from the a la carte menu before taking a guided penguin tour. Here you will walk with a guide along a boardwalk with the Little Penguins as they come ashore in the evening. At the end of the tour return to the Seafront Hotel for your dinner, served with Kangaroo Island wine.

Day 2 – Kangaroo Island
After a continental breakfast you will be collected by your guide to meet the other passengers joining your tour. Or you can take a leisurely stroll down the hill to the ferry terminal and meet your guide there. Once on board your experienced guide will show you some of Kangaroo Island's special places. The first stop is a working Australian farm, where the host Rob will demonstrate his sheep shearing skills, his dogs will demonstrate their keen ability to control sheep and you'll learn about the Australia wool industry. "Andermel” marron (fresh water lobster) ponds are our next stop. You'll see how these delicious crustaceans are farmed and fortunately we're here for lunch! There's a choice of 2 marron dishes and, because there's a winery at Andermel you'll enjoy some tasting as well as wine with your lunch (non shell fish and vegetarian options available). We meet a Parks Ranger at Kelly Hill Caves where we learn more about the limestone caves on a guided tour and then continue to the Western Kangaroo Island Sanctuary. This is a private sanctuary where we will look for native animals and birds around the lagoon. At this time of day we may see kangaroos and wallabies and, if we're lucky perhaps an echidna, goanna or koala. We stay at the entrance to Flinders Chase National Park at the 4 star Kangaroo Island Wilderness Retreat. Watch for the wallabies and possums as you go in for dinner, a 2-course a-la-carte meal served with Kangaroo Island wines. Remember to close your hotel room door while you are at dinner as the possums love to visit!

Day 3 – Kangaroo Island to Adelaide
After a continental breakfast, we enter Flinders Chase National Park and visit Admiral's Arch, a spectacular natural formation and home to a colony of playful fur seals. We stop at Weir's Cove at the ruins of the old lighthouse store to see how they hauled supplies from sailing ships up the cliffs to the store. In winter, watch for whales which often pass along the coast here. Then at Remarkable Rocks walk amongst the weird shapes eroded into the huge granite rock formations. This is paradise for photographers with its spectacular ocean background, cliffs and isolated white sand beaches. After a brief stop at the Flinders Chase Visitor Centre, where you can look at some unique fossil remains of Australia's ancient mega fauna, buy a drink or souvenirs, we drive back along the south coast road to Hanson Bay Sanctuary where we take a walk to look for koalas and other wildlife. From there we drive to beautiful Vivonne Bay for a 2-course lunch served with Kangaroo Island wines in a natural bushland setting. Lunch is followed by a fascinating Birds of Prey flight demonstration and an exclusive photo opportunity with the eagle after the show (exclusive to our guests). From here it's a short drive to Little Sahara, an inland area of large white sand dunes, unusual in that they are not coastal and surrounded by dense bushland. A highlight for most is the Seal Bay Conservation Park – a walk on the beach with your guide amongst a breeding colony of wild and rare Australian Sea Lions. Kingscote is the island's main town, and here you will learn about wild pelicans and see them being fed. It's time to farewell Kangaroo Island, departing from either the Kingscote Airport or Penneshaw ferry terminal for evening travel back to Adelaide.
