6 Day Adelaide to Eyre Peninsula Tour

Day 1 - Adelaide to Flinders Ranges

Journey into the rusty, rugged gorges, abandoned homesteads and ghost gums of the southern Flinders Ranges National Park. Experience life of the early pioneers with a camel trek.

Departure is from Adelaide Bus Station at 7.00 am.

Our adventure begins north from Adelaide as we venture into the Southern Flinders Ranges. The tour jumps on board a Pichi Richi Camel Trek and discover South Australia's premier National Park. This is followed by a Bush Tucker lunch in this pristine environment.

We stop off along the way to take in typical rural cities and towns.

At the end of the first day's journey we arrive at Lake Gairdner in the Gawler Ranges National Park- for a magical sunset and for the first bush camp experience.

Day 2 - Flinders Ranges to Eyre Peninsula

The Eyre Peninsula is one of those great secrets not many people have yet discovered. Teeming with some of Australia's most amazing and outstanding real wildlife experiences, the lack of a nearby major airport and too far to drive for most domestic travellers, this piece of paradise is one that only those who have been, can give that knowing smile of discovery of a very special place indeed.

Today we make our way onto the Eyre Peninsula and begin by checking out the stunning coastline. Our first stop is Bairds Bay which is a sublime stretch of coastline where we can spend time on the beach and having a swim.

For those wanting to experience one of Australia's most unique wildlife experiences of swimming with dolphins and sea lions we have the time at this stop to do so. This incredible optional wildlife experience involves a four hour boat cruise. We find the friendly populations and can swim and snorkel amongst them. There is nothing that can parallel the feeling of communing with wild creatures such as these.

We then visit the famous Murphy's Haystacks - the weird and wonderful - 100,000 year old granite inselbergs shaped by the sands of time.

Its then on to beautiful Venus Bay - a sheltered bay where on an enjoyable coastal walk we catch sight of dolphins as they frolic in and out of the waves.

Over night at Coodlie Park Farm Retreat - a unique accommodation and experience facility. Our hosts Hassie and Jo take us on an unique nocturnal spotlighting tour looking for Australia's National Emblems - kangaroos, wombats and emus.

Day 3 - Coodlie Park Farm Retreat

As you say good bye to your new friends as they continue on to Perth on the 10 day tour, this day you have many options!

You can relax on a private beach, spend time exploring the many beautiful bush or coastal walks - spend your day on your own private beach!

Or jump into the car with Hassie and spend the day exploring the region around Coodlie Park Farm Retreat.

That night stop again at Coodlie Park and meet new friends as the Perth to Adelaide tour calls into Coodlie Park Farm Retreat.

Day 4 - Port Lincoln

This morning we go to the Colton Bakery - a unique wood fired bakery on the side of the highway with a honesty pay system. We meet Mark the owner of Colton Bakery and walk through this interesting bakery.

Next stop is Elliston's Great Ocean Tourist Drive, with stunning sculptures which contrast against the Investigator group of Islands in the back ground.

We then travel to Locks Well for a 500 metre cliff face walk and then admire the workmanship of 291 steps down the cliff face to the Locks Well beach.

On arrival in Port Lincoln it is straight to the marina and head out to photograph, hand feed or swim with Blue Fin Tuna. This is another 'WOW' - experience as the tuna swim around you - don't forget your underwater camera!

Day 5 - Cowell

Today is an extreme day of fun!!!!

Those that dare come face to face with the Great White Shark on a day tour [optional experience $495] which includes a video highlights of your experience.

Those not wishing to be quite so extreme head out and learn to Surf with Kingo - an Eyre Peninsula Legend who has given up teaching students in school to now teaching learn to surf up and down the Eyre Peninsula coastline. So we head out on to a beautiful deserted beach and spend the next two hours mastering the surf breaks.

After visiting Whalers Way Conservation Park for some more spectacular and stunning coastlines. The group can then relax on the beach before a visit to Glen Forest Wildlife Park and the kangaroos, koalas, emus, birds and other unique Australian animals.

Once the shark crew arrive back into port and share the experience of the Cage Dive, we head to Cowell for a great overnight South Australian pub experience!

Day 6 - Adelaide

Our first stop is Wadlatta Cultural Centre in Port Augusta that helps provide answers to the many questions about the formation of the Nullarbor, Flinders Ranges, and the formation of Australia as a continent.

The tour then travels Pt Augusta and through the Flinders Ranges and Horrick's Pass to enjoy our last awesome bush walk at Alligator Gorge.

The journey from the Flinders Ranges into Adelaide gives you a chance to reflect on the experiences over the last six action packed days.
