Itinerary

Our tour starts when we pick you up from your accommodation in Adelaide and drive towards Kangaroo Island via the Fleurieu Peninsula and experience some fantastic coastal views. We arrive at Cape Jervis and jump on the ferry as we cross the Backstairs Passage to Penneshaw on the island. From there we start our Kangaroo Island experience with the panoramic views atop Prospect Hill. Our days of action, wildlife and wilderness include sand boarding at Little Sahara (like snowboarding on sand), swimming and snorkelling at some remote beaches and optional quad biking around the bush at sunset. We also visit Seal Bay, where we get up close to the Sea Lions on a guided beach walk.

Overnight is spent at our private accommodation at Hanson Bay and surrounded by kangaroos, possums and the occasional echidna and koala. The nights are spent around the campfire. After dinner, whether an Aussie BBQ feast or some other “tour specialty”, we take a nocturnal walk and see those animals active at night, including penguins. Choose to sleep inside in the cottage bunk beds or under the stars in swags.

We spend time in the Flinders Chase National Park, the largest on the island. We check out the famous Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch before choosing a selection of short hikes. Flinders Chase is home to the elusive platypus, vast tracts of untamed wilderness and heaps of other wildlife, which we'll do our best to see lots of.

At the end of the day we make our way back to Penneshaw for the return crossing to Cape Jervis and the drive back into Adelaide, arriving at about 8.30pm. Our itineraries are included as a guide only, we encourage our guides to be flexible and we have very few time restrictions. Road, weather and group conditions always change and by being flexible our tours are varied and individual.
